The Imperfection of the Invincible

Throughout time there has always been struggles for power. One faction's rise is anothers downfall. Truer words have never been spoken, but how? How can one defeat an enemy with the cloak of invincibility? You can't. It is an utter impossibility. So long as your enemy is believed invincible you will never find allies.

Make no mistake, nothing is truly invincible. Everything and everyone is can be defeated. The problem lies in casting off your enemy's illusion. They must be poked and proded, shown their weaknesses. Your enemy is weakest when they believe they are invincible. For example, if you throw a rock at a bear it might hurt, but he will not believe you a threat. However, should one hundred rocks be thrown the bear will then realize it is in danger and will fight for all its worth. To throw more than one stone at a time requires allies, but as I have already said, you will not find any unless you show them that your foe is capable of failure of loss.

A superpower is only capable of remaining so if they display their strengths and hide their weaknesses, on the other hand to overthrow that power you must show their weakness and hide their strength. The irony here is that should you succeed; you will become the invincible... and heaven help you should you let your guard down like your predecessor.

Be wary, not paranoid. Be smart, not arrogant. Be cautious not slow. We are mortal and we can fall.

BEFORE WAR:
On a ranch in Texas, a little girl ran, screaming happily across the emerald sea of grass. Her Daddy right behind her, she rolled down a hill until the bottom, happy that her daddy had a day off, happy he had come back from the bad place with all the fighting a couple of months ago. When here daddy caught her, he told her it was time to go home. "Carry me, Daddy!!" she said happily. Almost right when he picked her up, her head went to his shoulder, happy that he was there to make her feel safe. When they got back to the house, she was fast asleep. His wife looked at their daughter, smiled, and took her to bed. As she came back, she had a letter, and her eyes were filled with sadness. She showed him the redeployment order for his unit. He looked at her, and at that moment, all his love and sadness poured out of his eyes, and into hers. He went and embraced her, comforting her. "It will be all right," he said. "I came back last time, and I promise I will this time." Her only response was to tuck her head into his chest, fully aware that this might be the last time she felt his warm embrace.

IN THE WAR:
As he stopped by an outpost, he took a drink of water and remembered that last embrace before he left. His squad mates liked to compare Iraq as "Living hell". He disagreed. Hell could never be this bad. As he glanced around the street, he noticed a parked car with an unmoving form in it. Motioning for his squad mates to stay back, he slowly advanced. When he got their, he sighed with relief. Someone had had too much to drink. Across the street, his squad mates were motioning for him. They told him that the tourist in the car wanted to know where the nearest restraunt was. Happy to help, he went over to the car. About five steps away, the car exploded. Unlucky enough not to be killed instantly, he was thrown into a building with such force he could not, hear or see. As he felt the blackness envelop his mind. His last thought was if his commander would remember to give the letter to his wife, and if he had really mattered...... then everything went black

AT HOME:
As the man's wife looked out the window, she saw a military issue car pull up. As soon as she saw it, she knew. Tears in her eyes, she went to the door, thanking god here little girl was napping. When she opened the door, the man took of his hat and, with sorrow in his eyes, told here. He explained how here husband died and what she was entitled to as his wife, and finally, he handed her a letter. He told her that her husband had wanted him to give it to her if he died. She looked down and, teardrops already smudging the ink began to read:
To my loving, and wonderful wife,
If you are reading this, I am no longer with this world. I am sorry. I was not able to keep my promise. I really had every intention of coming back. Honey, our little girl is too young to really understand what has happened. Try and explain that I will see her and you in heaven. She will still need a daddy. Hon, if I am dead, I want you to know, I want you to move on. Our baby needs and deserves a good daddy. I wish I had longer with you than the few years I had. I loved and still do love you more than I loved my life. I will wait for you by the gates of Heaven.
Love,
You're Husband
As she finished reading, the little girl came to the door. "Mommy is daddy coming home soon?" she asked. The Mother looked at her daughter and looked at the man. "Thank you," she said, "for bringing me my husband's letter." "I hope you will be ok mama." he said. "Mommy, is daddy coming?" the girl asked again. The Mother looked up at the officer, and shut the door. Inside he heard someone start to cry.

WAR-LIVING HELL FOR ALL IT TOUCHES.

Listen friends, listen well, and heed the lessons the past tells. throughout history there have been many groups made to protect peace. When they held sway, prosperity and happiness flourished. Their job was to protect those who were weak, and keep an eye on those who were strong. Never have these groups lasted, for all were destroyed from withen. Never did these "Watchers" suspect those within their ranks. They were above scrutiny and so the perished. They never thought that their demise would come from within there ranks, for they were the very solders of peace, but who watched the watchers? All it took was a few corrupible minds and one, manipulative person to bring an end to a golden age.

So take to heart my warning here. Watch those who watch us. Keep the next golden age alive by watching the watchers.
